SIRIS annual report 2024

17.12.2024 – The SIRIS Foundation and the ANQ have once again published the University of Bern's annual analyses of the SIRIS hip and knee implant registry.

The evaluations are based on almost 458,600 primary hip and knee implantations and around 26,100 follow-up procedures that have been documented in the registry by Swiss hospitals and clinics since 2012.

According to current estimates, over 98% of hip and knee implantations are now recorded in SIRIS. In 2024, the revision rates of hip and knee implants used in Switzerland were transparently presented in the report for the sixth time in a row. Through the ongoing evaluation of implants, hospitals and surgeons, SIRIS has become an essential tool for quality assurance in prosthetics. Since 2015, there has been a visible trend towards decreasing revision rates across all total hip and knee replacements and all diagnoses.
