18.10.2024 – The Confederation and cantons are constantly working to improve the understanding of cancer and ensure the best possible care for all patients. In order to obtain an overall picture of cancer in Switzerland, cancer registration has been required by law since 1 January 2020. But what are the benefits of cancer registration and how does it work?

The Childhood Cancer Registry of Switzerland (ChCR), which is managed by the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine at the University of Bern, and the National Agency for Cancer Registration (NACR) developed a platform with an explanatory video for the Swiss population on cancer registration. The aim is to inform the general public about cancer registration, the type, purpose and scope of data processing and the rights of patients.
